Rates of Reaction - due 22nd March 2012

Rate of reaction is a measure of how quickly a reaction occurs - what is measured is the change in amount of either reactant or product per second.

Rate of reaction is explained by collision theory. Reactants must collide with enough energy before they will react. Collisions with enough energy are known as "successful collsions". The more successful collisions per second, the faster the rate.

Explain how the four main factors affect rate of reaction.
You will need to: state what each factor is; say how if affects rate; and explain how this happens.

Post your answer in the comments section.

Revision for C1,2,3 Exam

The exam is on Wednesday the 18th of January.

There is a revision session on Tuesday the 17th in S16 at 3.20pm. If there is a particular topic that you'd like help with, then please mention it in the comments section below.

There are no exact past-papers for our exam. This link does have all of the previous specification's papers. The questions on units C1 and C2 are mostly still relevant, but there won't be any current C3 questions. The more recent papers are best to look at as they have more questions which are similar to our course.

Good Luck!
